Becoming a Group Leader: Practical Challenges and Beyond

What changes when you start your own group? And what does no one tell you about becoming a group leader?

Future Faculty and Career Support invite you to an afternoon seminar about the move from researcher to research leader. Whether you’re about to start your own group, have just started one, or are thinking about it for the future, this is a chance to hear from people who have made the transition or who support those who do.

Speakers

  • Giulia Saredi, Research Team Manager
  • Johannes Cairns, Associate Senior Lecturer
  • Jacob Vogel, Associate Senior Lecturer
  • Lhinn Holmbergh, HR, Department Office of Laboratory Medicine

The speakers will share experiences from different perspectives: building and managing a team, the day-to-day realities of leading a group, and the practical and administrative sides that often come as a surprise. There will be time for your questions.
